SINI KAARTINEN
A Helsinki that invites you to
Who am I?
I am an equity expert and cultural producer. Through my work and my positions of trust, I defend human rights. I am on the Boards of the University of the Arts Helsinki, the Women's Union, the Green Women and the City of Helsinki's Equality and Non-Discrimination Committee.
I do feminist and anti-racist politics that defend diversity, marginalised minorities, and those at risk of discrimination. In the council I would also safeguard resources for the arts, so that everyone in the city can make and enjoy the arts.
Give your vote for the diverse, feminist and anti-racist Helsinki.
A Helsinki that invites you to …
live
Helsinki must have affordable homes in every district. Housing should meet the needs of different people.
Everyone should be able to live in Helsinki regardless of their income level. Services and affordable public transport should be close to home.
participate
A Helsinki must offer a wide range of opportunities for participation. Everyone should be able to find their own way to participate in hobbies, associations or volunteer work.
Information about city services and decision-making should be available multilingually and in plain language.
thrive
There must be accessible spaces and funding for the arts. Helsinki must organise diverse, accessible and affordable events.
Helsinki, where creativity flourishes and residents enjoy themselves, is also a city that attracts visitors.
I commit to promoting equality, equity and environmental sustainability in all decision-making.
I commit to advocate for art and artists and opportunities for Helsinki residents to make and enjoy art.
I commit to promote the plain language in Helsinki's decision-making and to work to ensure that information on pending issues and decisions is also available in plain language."
